We bet you have! American Motorcycles’ iconic building is recognised by all. Even those who have not ever owned a motorcycle are aware that there is something going on here. Well let me tell you a little more about us.
American Motorcycles is a Perth Institution known favourably amongst the Harley Davidson® community in Perth, Western Australia. For over 30 years, American Motorcycles has been servicing local Harley Davidson® riders with its eclectic assortment of pre-loved Harley Davidsons® at competitive prices, extensive range of new and rare aftermarket parts for early and late models whilst providing high quality and specialised mechanical expertise.
THE HISTORY
American Motorcycles didn’t get its current name until 1989. It was originally named Road and Trail and was established in 1984 by Stuart Verman. Stuarts two passions were exceptional wine and quality motorcycles. After working many years in the wine business and achieving some of the highest accolades it was time for a change, next passion Motorcycles. The business focused on selling motorcycles (road and trail bikes), exhaust systems, helmets and a small clothing range. In 1987 Rob Gibbons joined the team. With his extensive experience in the motorcycle industry, Harley Davidsons® and specifically his passion and knowledge of rare parts, a partnership was born. In 1989 US Parts and Accessories was founded and the store was renamed American Motorcycles and US Parts. Stuart and Robs admiration for the Harley Davidson® motorcycle prevailed and American Motorcycles focused solely on these magnificent machines.
THE NEW ERA
Forward to the present day, and American Motorcycles is still providing the same exceptional experience to our valued and new customers. After three years with the business, Stuarts daughter, Ainslie Cornelius, who grew up surrounded by motorcycles, is opening up new opportunities. With a slick rebranding and introduction of a new e-commerce website, Ainslie will bring both businesses under one umbrella, American Motorcycles. Our highly knowledgeable staff have not changed.

Focussing on everything Harley Davidson® and taking a special interest in early models (pre 2005), AMC Parts and Workshop, managed by our parts experts, is one of the most highly equipped motorcycle businesses in Perth. With one of the largest and most extensive range of aftermarket parts, specialist tools and extensive technical knowledge AMC Parts and Workshop will provide our customers with every component to service, re-build and customise their Harley Davidson®.
Our extensive range of aftermarket Harley Davidson® parts will now be available throughout Australia and Indonesia through our new website. Any part we don’t have, we will do our utmost to source it for you. Using trusted suppliers from the USA such as V-Twin, Drag Specialties, Mid-USA, Tucker Rocky and Custom Chrome we are able to provide our customers with quality aftermarket brands such as Arlen Ness, Vance and Hines, S&S, Mikuni, Kuryakyn, Golan and James Gaskets.
